Keys to Making a Highlight Video

  • By CoachMom

Keys to Making a Highlight Video:

Clips of your game footage that highlight your skills and talent:

  • Make a quality video
  • Add contact information including school name, graduating year, Jersey #, height and position
  • Maximum 3 1/2 minutes in length
  • Captures your strengths
  • Group clips to show the different segments of your game
  • Segments include: shot selection, ball control, footwork, decision making, leadership, motor, rebounds, passing, assists, scoring abilities, defence, hustle plays (diving for lose ball), taking a charge, communication,
  • If adding music make sure it’s appropriate, fading out cuss words does not mean it’s clean!
  • Highlight videos only show the best parts of your game. Some coaches may ask for full game tapes to get a better sense of your overall game and to see common mistakes.
